Bear Lake Campground

 Bear Lake ParkAn ideal lake for canoeing, windsurfing, and other personal watercraft, Bear Lake is four miles wide and six miles long. It is only six feet deep at its deepest point.

Located on the north shore of Bear Lake, just 23 km northwest of Grande Prairie.

Head north on Hwy #2, three km past Clairmont to Twp Road 730 (Mercer Hill Road). Turn west and follow the signs.


Turn south off secondary Hwy # 672 (Emerson Trail) on Range Road 72, then proceed 4 km to the park.

Season: May 15 to October 15

Rates: $26.00/night per campsite or $80.00/day for the shelter. Shelter fee is waived if a group booking is made for all camp sites. For individual campsites, payment is accepted in cash only. Occupancy permitted at each campsite is one camping unit and one vehicle. For group day use and group overnight camping, payment is accepted in cash, debit, or credit card only.  No cheques.

Reservations are now accepted for block bookings of individual campsites.  Reserve 5 or more campsites and receive a discount.  Details are as follows:

5% discount for 5 - 9 sites reserved: $24.70 per site

10% discount  for 10 - 14 sites reserved: $23.40 per site

15% discount for 15 - 19 sites reserved: $22.10 per site

Please note the boat launch is for small hand-launched watercraft only.

Advance Campsite Reservations for Bear Creek Folk Festival Attendees

The County of Grande Prairie welcomes festival attendees to make reservations at Bear Lake Campground to assist with confirming accommodations during their stay in the Grande Prairie area.  Bear Lake Campground is a short drive from Grande Prairie, and plans are underway to provide shuttle service throughout the event.  Please watch this webpage for updates as plans are confirmed.  We invite the "night owls" to stay at this location along the beautiful shores of Bear Lake.  Please contact our Park Host, Cherie-Ann to confirm your campsite at the contact information on this webpage.
