Property Tax Information
In accordance with the Municipal Government Act, the County of Grande Prairie assessment roll is open for public viewing during regular office hours, at no charge. Assessment information is also available through our Online Services.
To pay taxes monthly using the Pre-authorized Tax Payment Plan, complete the Tax Form Preauthorize tax application [PDF - 129 KB].
A Bylaw 3092 - 2018 Property Tax Bylaw [PDF - 2.8 MB] is passed annually in conjunction with our budget process. The bylaw establishes the funds required from property taxation to fulfil the budget and the taxation rates for various classes of property.
Coming Soon - Pay Your Taxes via Credit Card
Very shortly you will also have the option of paying your Taxes with your credit card. This option will only be available if you phone into our office or if you wish to pay your taxes on-line. (Please note, a 2% fee will be added to your total). As soon as this service becomes available, we will let you know by posting a notice on our website and social media pages.
Property taxes are due and payable on the last day of June, excepting those years when the last day of June is not a business day (Monday through Friday), in which case the due date is the first business day of July, which is July 3 in 2018.
To further accommodate residents, the County office will be open for extended hours for tax payments on June 28 to July 3 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., including the lunch hour.
Payments in person can be made at the County Administration Office located at 10001-84 Avenue in Clairmont. As well, payments can be made at any major banking institution, bank machine, over telephone or internet banking, or by mail. Please ensure that payments made through these methods are postmarked with a date of July 3, 2018, or earlier.
A three percent penalty will be applied to current taxes and arrears if payment is received after July 3, 2018 and an additional 12 per cent for payments made after October 31, 2018.
Property owners who haven't received their tax notice or have recently purchased property in the County of Grande Prairie should immediately contact the County tax office at 780-513-3968 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If your address was changed by Canada Post and you have not contacted the County, please do so immediately. Canada Post cannot forward your new mailing address to our office. The County of Grande Prairie must receive authorization from the property owner(s) to change mailing information on property tax records. It can be emailed to email@example.com; faxed to 780-539-9880; filled out by County Administration over the telephone at 780-532-9722; or in person or mailed to the County Administration Office located at 10001 84 Ave, Clairmont, AB T8X 5B2.
