Fire Ban Information

Fire Advisory in Place

Due to the warm, dry conditions the County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service has issued a Fire Advisory for the entire County effective August 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. until further notice.

As a result, residents who have existing permits are recommended not to burn as the warm, dry weather pushes the fire hazard higher in the region. No new permits will be issued until further notice. Burning is not permitted when winds reach 12 km per hour or higher.

As well, we would like to remind the public that burning in the Dunes Natural Area is strictly prohibited.

If you are using an Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV), please remember to check for hot spots and remove debris before and after use. Never leave a campfire unattended. Soak it, stir it and soak it again until cool to the touch to ensure it is extinguished.
