FireSmart Wood Waste Clean-up

Is your home or business near treed or grassy areas? If so, wildfire is a real threat. Protect your yard and home from the risk of wildfire by taking part in the annual Wood Waste Clean-up.

Each year County residents and businesses are encouraged to bring wood debris, branches and deadfall from their yards to the County FireSmart Wood Waste Clean-up events where the County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service chips and disposes of for free. This years wood waste clean-up will be taking place at:

  • Saturday, May 27 - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pinebrook Estates – Located on Range Road 55, south of Township Road 714
  • Saturday, June 3 - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Lawra Estates – Located on Range Road 54, north of Township Road 712

Staff as well as a representative from Alberta Agriculture and Forestry will be on site handing out information and answering questions regarding the FireSmart program. As well, free BBQ hot dogs and refreshments will be served at the events.
