Human Resources Advisor – Training & Recruitment

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The Human Resources Advisor - Training & Recruitment is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day recruitment and training activities for the County of Grande Prairie.

Primary duties will include:

  • Full-cycle recruitment
    • Advertising postings, reviewing applications, pre-screening, assisting managers with interviewing, performing reference checks, preparing and communicating offer letters and following up with candidates;
    • Develop and maintain recruiting metrics;
    • Maintaining the job opportunities page on the website.
  • Training and Development
    • Assess needs;
    • Source training programs and providers;
    • Course, manual, and handbook development;
    • Tracking completion;
    • Maintaining employee records;
    • Conduct new hire orientations on HR and Safety policies.

Our ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator who also possesses:

  • Bachelor’s degree with CPHR designation preferred, other related education and experience may be considered;
  • Registered Professional Recruiter certification;
  • Certified Training Practitioner certification preferred;
  • Three to five years’ experience in human resources, a concentration in training and development and/or recruitment is preferred;
  • Possession of a valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record;
  • Sound judgement and problem solving;
  • Analytical, planning and organizational skills;
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and additional hours, if/when required;
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
