Fire Permits are required in the County year round.

The County has 4 different Fire Burning Areas (White, Yellow, Green and Red), click here for a color coded map that will show you which area your residence belongs to.  You can also visit our Public web map http://www2.countygp.ab.ca/webmap/ Under Protective Services Layer (online version of the Burning Areas).

Based on your Burning Area please do the following:

County White Area - FILL OUT A REQUEST FORM (THIS IS ONLY A REQUEST FORM, YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZE TO BURN UNTIL CONTACTED BY THE FIRE OFFICE) Click here  - requires a verbal permit during fire season (which is generally April 1 - October 31, set by the Province).

County Yellow Area - CALL THE ASSSIGNED FIRE GUARDIAN IN YOUR AREA (click here) - requires a written fire permit during fire season. The legal land description will determine the fire guardians for that area (Council Division).

County Green Area CALL THE ASSIGNED FORESTRY FIRE GUARDIAN IN YOUR AREA - requires a written fire permit during fire season from a forestry fire guardian as this area is designated as the Forest Protection area.
