Pests and Disease Program
The Agricultural Services department provide assistance to residents to help manage pests and diseases that could have a negative impact on agriculture and farming operations within the County. Initiatives include:
- Integrated Pest Management - Provide assistance to residents to encourage the use of a variety of methods when dealing with pests and diseases.
- Pest and Disease Inspecting - Yearly monitoring of insect populations, such as grasshoppers, to identify population cycles that may affect crop yields. Yearly monitoring of crops to identify diseases, such as, Fusarium graminearum, Virulent Blackleg, and Clubroot.
There are a number pests and diseases commonly found and looked for in the County. Please check this page often as we continue to update it.
