The Parks and Recreation department has four service areas:

Parks and Campgrounds

  • We own and operate eight County Campgrounds. This includes day to day operational services and long term planning and capital improvement

Green Space

Recreation and Culture

  • We manage the Recreation and Culture Grant Programs. For more information on the grant programs, please visit our Grants & Scholarships page 
  • We support the Communities in Bloom initiative by working with community groups
  • We provide support to not for profit groups that own and operate recreation facilities throughout the County. This includes, but is not limited to: contracting feasibility studies, assisting with facility development and advising on short term and long term goals


  • We are constantly examining opportunities to provide new recreation and cultural facilities and services to the residents of the County and the surrounding region
