Flood Disaster Relief Funding

If you live in the County and your home, business or property was damaged by flooding and groundwater seepage from April 22 to May 4, 2020, you may be eligible to receive Disaster Recovery Program funding from the Government of Alberta. The Disaster Recovery Program provides funding for uninsurable property damage, loss and other expenses incurred as the result of a natural disaster.
Please go to www.alberta.ca/DRP to download and submit your application form, and to find the most up-to-date program guidelines. Deadline to apply is December 23, 2020.

The 2020 spring flood was very challenging and affected many lives. Dozens of concerned citizens have reached out to the County of Grande Prairie seeking answers to their questions about this exceptional flooding event and the County's role.
In the event of damage caused by extraordinary conditions, the Government of Alberta may provide financial assistance to municipalities, small businesses and individuals through a Disaster Recovery Program (DRP). The DRP assists property owners with uninsurable losses and is intended to help with restoring the basic essentials of life and community services.
