Development Approvals

Discretionary development approvals are posted on the Approved Discretionary Development Permits page during the 21 day appeal period. These decisions may be appealed to the relevant appeal board during this time and are not final until the appeal period has expired.

Public Hearings

Public hearings are an opportunity for Council to hear from anyone affected by proposed bylaws or resolutions prior to making a decision on the matter.

Public hearings are scheduled during regular Council meetings to begin around 1:00pm. Anyone wishing to participate can speak at the hearing or provide written comments. Written submissions must be received by 4:30pm the Thursday before the hearing to be included in the Council agenda and any information you provide may be made public subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. If you wish to speak at the hearing, you will be invited to do so by the Chair as per the County's Procedural Bylaw. Land Use Bylaw Amendments - Bylaw #2680

  1. The purpose of the amendment is to designate PT NW-27-74-2-W6 located north of TWP RD 744 along the Smoky River from Extractive Industrial (EX) to Intensive Recreation (IR) to allow for intensive recreational uses. File PLLUB20190562.
  2.  The purpose of the amendment is to designate PT NW-21-72-5-W6 located 2 miles north of HWY 43, on the southeast corner of the intersection of RGE RD 54 and TWP RD 724 in the Hamlet of Clairmont from Agricultural (AG) to Country Residential (CR-4) to allow for the subdivision of 3 country residential lots.   3.   5. The purpose of the amendment is to designate PT Lot 1 Plan 8620137 PT SE-30-72-4-W6 located approximately 2 miles north of HWY 43 on the northwest corner of the intersection of TWP RD 724 and RGE RD 45 from Agriculture to Country Residential (CR-4) to allow for the subdivision of 5 country residential lots.
