
Scheduled Public Hearings
Public hearings are an opportunity for Council to hear from anyone affected by proposed bylaws or resolutions, including proposed amendments to the Land Use Bylaw or new or amended Area Structure Plans, prior to making a decision on the matter.
Public hearings are scheduled during regular Council meetings beginning at 1:00 pm in the order they appear on the agenda. The length of individual hearings can vary, therefore exact start times for specific applications cannot be provided.
You can speak at the hearing or provide written comments in advance. Written submissions must be received by 4:30pm the Thursday before the scheduled hearing date. Note any information you provide may be made public subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. If you wish to speak at a hearing, you will be invited to do so by the Chair as per the Procedural Bylaw. Visit the Council Calendar and select the Council Meeting or call 780-532-9722 for information on how to participate.

Note: This hearing was held on September 25, 2023 and the bylaw amendment received first reading and is being forwarded to the Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors for approval. Nature of the Application:
The purpose of this application is to close a portion of Government Road Allowance known as Range Road 54, north of Railway Plan 3285BU which lies north of Highway 2 to public travel in accordance with Section 22 of the Municipal Government Act. In order to close the road allowance, the County must first hold a Public Hearing on this matter.

Meridian 6 Range 5 Township 74 All that portion of Original Government Road Allowance adjoining the West Boundary of 6-5-74-16-NW which lies between the production South Westerly of the Northerly Boundary of Rail Plan 3285BU and which lies South of a line drawn at right angles to the said Road Allowance from a point of the East Boundary of the said Road Allowance 53.50 metres Northerly from the Intersection of the East Boundary of the said Road Allowance and the Northerly boundary of the said Railway Plan.

1. The purpose of the amendment is to designate Pt. SE-13-71-9-W6 located north of Hwy 712 approximately 6.5 miles west of Wembley from Agriculture (AG) to Intensive Recreation (IR) district to accommodate the recreational use. File# PLLUB20220338.
