Request to Participate Remotely at a Public Hearing

Public Hearings

County Council has the authority to make decisions that affect the County of Grande Prairie. These decisions can affect long-term plans for the entire County, neighbourhoods, and individual properties. Council is required by the Municipal Government Act to provide the opportunity for the public to share their views on certain topics.

Public Hearings are an opportunity for anyone affected by proposed bylaws, including amendments to the Land Use Bylaw or new or amended Area Structure Plans, to voice their concerns or support, prior to Council making a decision on the matter.

You can participate in a Public Hearing by speaking in person or remotely (by phone) during the meeting or by providing written comments in advance.

Request to participate remotely by completing and submitting the Request to Participate Remotely at a Public Hearing online form.

*Note: For remote participation phone number and code along with instructions on how to speak will be provided after registration.

Public Hearing Council Meetings are livestreamed on the Council Meetings Portal.

Public Hearing opportunities are advertised on County’s website at: Scheduled Public Hearings.

Written submissions may be sent by mail to Planning and Development Services, County of Grande Prairie No. 1 at 10001 – 84 Avenue, Clairmont, AB T8X 5B2 or via email.

Any submissions received after the deadline will be read into the Public Hearing record and included in the agenda package after the meeting.
