Chamber to host Mayor and Reeves in 2022 State of the Region
The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce presents the 2022 State of the Region on Friday, April 22 in partnership with the City of Grande Prairie, County of Grande Prairie and Municipal District of Greenview.
The hybrid event will feature Chamber of Commerce Chair Tertius Genis in conversation with City Mayor Jackie Clayton, County Reeve Leanne Beaupre and Greenview Reeve Tyler Olsen.
“Our Chamber is pleased to partner with each of our local municipalities, and we look forward to hearing from all three as they provide a snapshot of their respective initiatives in economic development, community programs, infrastructure, advocacy, and intermunicipal collaboration,” shared Chamber Chair Tertius Genis.
This is the second “State of the Region” hosted by the Chamber, following last year’s virtual event. This year, participants will be able to attend in person or view online via Zoom.
“The State of the Region is a significant annual event for our regional leaders to recap accomplishments from 2021 and present their vision and focus for the upcoming year. We are thankful for the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce for hosting once again, and look forward to joining our counterparts from the County of Grande Prairie and M.D. of Greenview for this opportunity,” stated Mayor Jackie Clayton.
Doors will open at 11:30 AM on April 22 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grande Prairie Airport, with a buffet lunch at 11:45 AM, and program beginning at 12:15 PM followed by a moderated question and answer period. Online viewers will be able to join the call after 12:00 PM.
“On behalf of the County of Grande Prairie, I look forward to sharing priorities from our recently updated Strategic Plan and hearing how our municipal counterparts from the City of Grande Prairie and the M.D. of Greenview are also working to create thriving communities that offer rich experiences and long-term economic growth. The County continues to invest in and advocate for areas identified as important by our residents, including effective transportation networks, community wellness and safety, and fiscal sustainability,” said Reeve Leanne Beaupre.
The cost to attend in person is $50 + GST, while the price to participate virtually via Zoom is $20.
“On behalf of Greenview Council, I am happy to join Mayor Clayton and Reeve Beaupre in sharing our priorities and the collaborative work we have been doing for the benefit of all our communities. As well as continuing our commitment to upgrading and investing in vital infrastructure and community services, Greenview is also moving forward with multiple industrial developments that will have positive economic impacts for our entire region,” commented Reeve Tyler Olsen.
The deadline for registration is April 15, 2022. Tickets can be purchased on the Chamber website at www.grandeprairiechamber.com.
