County Council approves more than $4.5 million in grants for local organizations
Community groups will benefit from County Council’s pledge to provide $4,501,807 in grant funding to sport, recreation, cultural organizations, and facilities in 2024.
Approximately $2,139,486 of the total will be allocated to Community Assistance Grants, with $2,362,321 awarded to Capital Community Projects.
Grant funding helps support and offset operational costs for organizations located in the County and the communities of Beaverlodge, Grande Prairie, Sexsmith, and Wembley.
“The County is pleased to recognize the valuable contributions of these organizations and volunteers and is appreciative of their efforts to provide services and opportunities that enhance the quality of life and pride in our communities,” says Reeve Bob Marshall.
The County’s Community Assistance Grant Program provides operational funding to non-profit and volunteer groups that promote active, safe, and sustainable communities, and that own or operate facilities that provide recreational, sports and cultural opportunities. The Capital Grants program offers financial support to non-profit organizations that own or operate facilities that provide recreational, sports and cultural opportunities and are making improvements to their facilities or building new facilities.
