County Opens Nominations for Third ‘It Takes a Volunteer’ Campaign
The County of Grande Prairie is once again celebrating the dedication and generosity of volunteers with the return of the 'It Takes a Volunteer' campaign. Now in its third year, the program continues to shine a light on the individuals, groups, and organizations that make a meaningful impact through volunteerism.
Since its launch in 2023, the campaign has recognized 19 organizations and 24 individuals for their outstanding contributions, and the County hopes to see even more nominations this year—especially from young volunteers. In 2024, a few high school students were recognized, highlighting their valuable role in strengthening their communities.
"Each year, we are inspired by the dedication and kindness of those who give their time to make a difference," says Reeve Bob Marshall. "Volunteers are the heart of our community, bringing people together and helping it thrive. This year, we especially encourage nominations for young volunteers stepping up to support others. We appreciate their passion and commitment to community service, and we hope to build on this momentum by recognizing even more youth in 2025."
Nominations for 'It Takes a Volunteer' are now open until March 3, 2025, and recognized volunteers will be celebrated during National Volunteer Week, April 27 to May 3, 2025.
