At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 17th, The County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service was dispatched to a structure fire involving a custom-built BBQ in a deck at a residence in Carriage Lane.
On arrival, fire crews found a fire in the BBQ area that had extended to the back deck. The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished. Damage was limited to the back deck area and did not extend to the home.
With this call, damage was limited because of an immediate call to 911 and a very fast response time from the Dunes Fire Station. Said Deputy Fire Chief Jason Nesbitt”.
