February 16, 2023 Committee of the Whole Highlights
Updates to the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan and Business Plan – The Committee reviewed minor updates made to the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan and Business Plan, as a result of Council’s annual strategic planning session held earlier in February. The Committee recommended to Council to approve the updates. Both updated documents will be made available on the County website once approved at a future Regular Council Meeting.
Improvements at Bear Lake Campground – The Committee recommended to Council that Administration move forward with adding eight new powered, pull-through campsites and a watercraft dock with a kayak launch at the Bear Lake Campground for a total cost of $241,200. Administration was directed to request an additional $71,932 in capital funds at 2023 Final Budget to cover the cost. Administration was also directed to bring further details about controlling the lake’s water levels, repairing the boat launch, installing a sanitation dump, expanding power to 11 existing campsites and providing potable water on-site for campers to a future Committee of the Whole meeting for discussion.
Vehicle and Equipment Replacements and Disposals – The Committee accepted Administration’s presentation of Policy C21 – Disposal of Surplus Assets and Goods as information.
Committee of the Whole Task Lists – The Committee accepted the Council and Committee of the Whole Meeting task lists up to and including January 30, 2023, as information.
Review of Upcoming Agenda Items – The Committee reviewed topics scheduled for upcoming Committee of the Whole meetings.
The next Regular Council Meeting will take place on February 27, 2023. The next Committee of the Whole Meeting will take place on March 16, 2023.
