Fire Advisory Issued by County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service

Effective at 3 p.m. on April 27, the County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Services has issued a fire advisory for the entire County, along with the towns of Beaverlodge, Sexsmith and Wembley.

The advisory is in effect due to dry, windy conditions. While existing fire permits are still valid, new permits will be issued on a case-by-case basis. Any burning without a valid fire permit, other than a campfire, is prohibited.

Those who must burn should follow permit guidelines and safe burning practices, including always remaining on site until burning is complete.

Reminder, burning is never permitted when winds reach, or are forecasted to reach, 12 km per hour or higher. 

The County will continue to monitor weather conditions. Any updates will be posted on our website.
