Support Request for Maskwa Medical Centre – Council directed Administration to invite the Board of Directors for the Maskwa Medical Centre to a future Council Meeting to discuss the details of their proposed project. The Board requested $25,000 in funding and a letter of support for the development of a business plan and cost-benefit analysis for a specialized non-profit medical clinic to deal with complex cases, that would be funded by Alberta Health Services (AHS) and located in Grande Prairie.

Core-Flex Paramedic Staffing Model Concerns – Council received comments from Alberta Health Services (AHS) regarding the Core-Flex Staffing Model for paramedics. Last November, the President of the Alberta Paramedics Association presented to Council regarding concerns with the model. At that time Council directed Administration to reach out to AHS regarding their perspective. AHS confirmed that a formal report regarding Emergency Medical Services staffing models will be released in the near future, and that the Core-Flex Staffing Model is not used in the Grande Prairie region as the call volume is too high. Council accepted the report for information.
