Range Road 121 between Township Road 704 and 703, over the Rio Grande Bridge, will close for repairs starting Monday, July 25.

The repairs are part of the Rio Grande Bridge replacement project, a $6.7 million investment from County Council to replace the aging transportation infrastructure. The closure will allow crews to realign the existing road with the new bridge.

The closure is expected to last until the end of August, weather dependent.

Motorists can access Range Road 121 north and south of the closure using Secondary Highway 722 and Township Road 710. View the closure location and detour routes highlighted on the project map.

The County thanks motorists for their patience and cooperation throughout the construction season.

July 22 update – The County has ensured construction crews are coordinating with the rodeo association to accommodate event traffic to the Rio Grande Sports Grounds throughout the project. As of July 25, the sports grounds will be accessible via Range Road 121 travelling south from Township Road 710 (Halcourt Road). Partway through the project, access to the sports grounds will switch to Range Road 121 travelling north as the new bridge is installed. Project details, including access to the facility, will be kept up to date on the Construction Project page and sent as an email to subscribers of County Traffic and Roads news.
