Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce
Monday, April 17, 2023
A survey is underway inviting the local workforce to share their thoughts about those community factors influencing their decisions to live in the region that includes the City of Grande Prairie, County of Grande Prairie, MD of Greenview and area communities.
The survey is also looking for feedback from those living outside the region but working locally about their perceptions of life in local communities and what the region offers.
“More and more, people are prioritizing community quality of life as they choose where they want to work and live,” said Tanya Oliver, CEO, Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce.
Oliver added that hearing directly from employees about what community assets are most important to them is key to clarifying and strengthening the role of different regional attributes in attracting and supporting a skilled workforce.
The short online survey is open until May 16. It is anonymous and confidential, and open to individuals ages 18 and over.
The survey is part of next steps in a regional workforce development project aimed at creating and sustaining a strong talent pool to meet the long-term workforce needs in the region. Attraction and retention is an issue that employers in the region have identified they are grappling with.
The Chamber is leading the workforce development project in collaboration with the City, County, Greenview, and Alberta Jobs, Economy and Northern Development.
