Residents reminded to avoid burning in windy conditions as crews are called to separate incidents

County Regional Fire Service is currently responding to two vegetation fires in the County. High winds are creating difficult conditions for firefighters.

Firefighters from across the County and from Alberta Wildfire, as well as a helicopter, are currently on scene working to control the blaze located north of Bear Lake.

A second fire to the east, located near Bezanson, is currently being monitored and crews remain on scene. 

Residents are asked to exercise caution, burn only when necessary and ensure that any permitted burn piles are fully extinguished. Burning is not permitted when winds reach 12 km per hour or higher.

As an added precaution, residents are also reminded to regularly review all current fire restrictions and bans in place across the Province at www.albertafirebans.ca.
