The County of Grande Prairie is in a state of emergency. All evacuation orders and alerts are enforced under the Emergency Management Act. Returning home is strictly prohibited until municipal authorities confirm the area is safe.
Re-entering the evacuation zone compromises the integrity of our volunteer Search and Rescue teams and Emergency Response personnel operations. If this persists, emergency response teams will be forced to pull back operations.
We are working very closely with our provincial partners and local authorities and have secured all needed resources.
General re-entry into the evacuated area is not permitted, and a secure perimeter exists around the evacuation order area. Evacuees requiring temporary access to their property can call 1-825-606-5166 to determine if their need for re-entry is legitimate and whether it is safe to do so given the current wildfire status.
