UPDATE 2 Fire Crews Respond to Brush Fire Near Clairmont

County of Grande Prairie fire crews continue to work on the fire north of Clairmont. Crews will be working in the area for the rest of today and coming days.

The fire is estimated at 30 hectares and is being held. The fire is not spreading beyond the perimeter. There is no threat to the public or risk to other structures. Fire crews continue to work on hot spots within the fire perimeter, which has been re-enforced with heavy equipment. County crews are working with Alberta Wildfire and a helicopter to ensure the fire is extinguished along this perimeter.

Please stay clear of the area from Township Road 730 to 732 and Range Roads 53 to 54 until the fire is extinguished.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
