UPDATE: House fire northwest of Teepee Creek now under control
At approximately 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service responded to a house fire located on Range Road 41 near Township Road 744, northwest of Teepee Creek. The fire is now under control. No injuries were reported.
Crews from Regional Fire Service stations in Clairmont, Teepee Creek and Bezanson, along with Fire Departments from the Towns of Sexsmith and Wembley all responded.
Upon arrival, crews found the home fully engulfed, with a 1,000-gallon propane tank exposed to the blaze.
Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire and used pump-rated water tenders to cool the propane tank and prevent it from rupturing.
Crews remain on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the County Fire Marshal.
