West Grande Prairie Regional Landfill becomes a Transfer Station
West Grande Prairie Regional Landfill becomes a Transfer Station
Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, December 12, the West Grande Prairie Regional Landfill will change operations.
The facility will continue to accept the same recycling and waste items from residents. Users will now be required to unload their waste by hand into the provided bins for transfer to the Clairmont Centre for Recycling and Waste Management. There is no impact to curbside collection for residents.
Starting tomorrow, commercial clients will need to take their waste to the Clairmont Centre for Recycling and Waste Management.
These changes are taking place after examination showed a lower-than-expected cell capacity at the West Grande Prairie Regional Landfill. Further study will be required to assess the need, feasibility, and costs of additional cell space for waste management.
