Spring Workshops

AdventureSmart Workshop (Free program open to ages 16+) THIS COURSE IS NOW FULL

Date: Tuesday, April 12, 2022   Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm  

Location: Wellington Resource Centre 10401 97 Street Clairmont

Be prepared for the backcountry — Members of Grande Prairie Technical Search and Rescue will provide the presentation.  Participants will learn about various outdoor safety practices including trip planning, travel and packing tips.


Kids Gardening Workshop (Cost $15)

Date: Sunday April 24, 2022 Time: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm  Location: County Parks and Recreation Shop

Cost: $15 per student, supplies included. 35 students max (age 3 - 15) kids 8 and under will require a parent to stay with them during the session.

Spring planting workshop for kids. Students will learn about nature, pollinators, how to start seeds and take care of their plants at home.  


BearSmart Outdoor Safety Course (Free program open to ages 16+)

Date: Wednesday, May 18, 2022   Time: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm  

Location: Wellington Resource Centre 10401 97 Street Clairmont

Join Courtney Hughes from the Government of Alberta for this public awareness session to reduce the conflict between bears and people. In this public awareness session you will learn about the difference between black and grizzly bears, bear safety information for living in bear country, use of bear deterrents and strategies to reduce the conflict between bears and humans.
