Kids Planting and Pollinators-Sunday April 11, 2021 2:00-3:00 pm

FREE to County Residents (this program is now full)

  • Kids learn via a live Teams event how to start their own flower seeds and take care of plants and the importance of pollinators.
  • Limit one kit per household and pre-registration is required.
  • Gardening Kits will include a package of mixed flower seeds, growing material and two growing containers.
  • Seed Package pick up is Friday April 9, 2021 from 1-5 pm in the County Administration Building Parking lot. (all registrants should have received an email with an attached map) It will be a drive thru pick up format.
  •  Heritage Farms Kids Planting and Pollinators session April 11, 2021, click HERE to watch the live Teams event from 2-3 pm.  
  • You can enter to win a spring gardening basket by submitting a photo via email of your kids planting their seeds to parksandrecreation@countygp.ab.ca (Draw will be made on April 14, 2021.)   

Heirloom Seeding Workshop- Sunday April 18, 2021 

Session 1: 1:00-2:00 pm (25 virtual spots available)

Session 2: 2:00-3:00 pm (25 virtual spots available)

Cost: $50.00 + GST  Virtual options available. (cost includes tray, planting materials and media)

Join Heritage Farm in this hands on Permaculture workshop where you will start a variety of Heirloom seeds. Students will have the opportunity to learn hands on in person or to attend virtually through a Teams platform how to start their own transplants from seed. The session includes instructions on seeds, planting media, and trays.  Learn how to keep plants happy and healthy as you grow them out at home. Each student will plant and take home 18 varieties of Heirloom plants that are hardy for northern climates.

Registration Deadline is noon on April 13, 2021.

Gardening Kits for virtual participants can be picked up by appointment at the Community Services Building April 15th from 1 pm- 5 pm or April 16th from 1 pm-4:30 pm.
