Kids Can Catch

Date: August 24, 2022

The County of Grande Prairie has teamed up with Alberta Conservation Association to host a province-wide program, Kids Can Catch Event at the County Sportsplex Pond located at 7407-108 Street Clairmont (on the east side of the Crosslink County Sportsplex parking lot behind the playground). This event is free to attend and create a non-competitive family fishing atmosphere to hook new and young anglers on fishing. It is a chance to fish and learn about fish conservation and responsible angling.

This event is open to families with kids under 16 years of age. You can bring your own fishing gear or use the event fishing rods. Kids under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult to participate in the event. We only require that you register your child(ren).

The program will accept up to 50 participants in each 45 minute time slot.

  • For safety we will limit the number of persons allowed on docks
  • Hand Sanitizer available onsite

Keep in mind that fishing regulations still apply.

In the event of inclement/poor weather, the event may be cancelled.

It is recommended the participants dress appropriately according to weather conditions and bring insect repellent.

Register in one of the 45-minute time slots today!
