October 27, 2025 Organizational Meeting – Elected and acclaimed Councillors were officially sworn in as members of County of Grande Prairie Council for the 2025-2029 term during the annual organizational meeting.  

County of Grande Prairie Council elected Division 1 Councillor Amanda McDonald as Reeve and Division 9 Councillor Bob Chrenek as Deputy Reeve at today’s organizational meeting. Read the full media release on the County website and watch the ceremony on the County’s YouTube channel.  

Councillors were appointed to serve as members on various boards and committees. The updated list of board and committee members will be available this week on the County website.  

Council Orientation – An orientation was provided to Council as required by legislation including the roles and responsibilities of the municipality, Council, and CAO; code of conduct; key municipal plans and policies; public participation; personal liability; and the Access to Information Act and Protection of Privacy Act. 

Council Governance – Council directed Administration to bring Bylaw #3261 Procedural Bylaw to a future Council meeting for discussion. Council approved Policy F12 – Council and Administration Communication Framework as presented. Council reviewed and accepted the following policies for information:  

2025-2026 Council, Budget and Committee of the Whole Meeting Calendar – Council approved the 2025-2026 Regular Council, Budget Council, and Committee of the Whole Meetings schedule as amended, moving the pre-budget meeting on July 16, 2026 to July 9, 2026, and the July 17, 2026 Committee of the Whole Meeting to July 10, 2026.  

The next Regular Council Meeting will take place October 28, 2025. The next Committee of the Whole Meeting will take place on December 1, 2025.
