Advance Voting Begins for the 2025 County Municipal Election
Today and Saturday, eligible voters for the 2025 County of Grande Prairie Municipal Election can cast their ballot early at an advance voting station of their choice on Wednesday, October 15, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., or Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Eligible voters can vote at any of the four advance voting locations regardless of their division,” says Carol Gabriel, Returning Officer. “Advance voting will be held at Clarkson Hall at Evergreen Park, Hythe Legion, Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum, and Webster Hall.
Voting will continue on Election Day, Monday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. when eligible voters will be required to cast their vote at the voting station within their division. Elections will be held in Divisions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9. Candidates for Divisions 1 and 8 have been acclaimed.
“Voters are encouraged to vote on the day most convenient for them, whether during the Advance Vote or on Election Day,” adds Gabriel. “County residents who make their voice heard will play a key role in shaping the future of decision-making where it matters most – right here at home.”
Members of Council are responsible for setting the direction for the County. They make critical decisions on matters including tax rates, operational and capital spending, road maintenance, recreation and cultural programming, garbage and recycling services, and bylaws for issues such as animal control, regional enforcement services, transportation and utilities projects, and community planning and development.
