August 24, 2026 

Clairmont Addressing — Council directed Administration to bring additional information on the costs to re-address properties within the Hamlet of Clairmont and public engagement opportunities for street naming to a future Council Meeting, along with a draft Municipal Addressing Bylaw and Addressing Standards for review and consideration. 

Policy N49 Bond Agreement — Council approved Policy N49 - Bond Agreement as presented. The policy outlines when bond agreements may be used to permit commercial vehicles to operate above mandated road ban restrictions.

Policy N3 Gravel Donations for Community Facilities — Council approved Policy N3 – Gravel Donations for Community Facilities as presented. The policy defines the steps involved for gravel donation requests from Community Facilities within the County. 

2026 Tax Sale Date — Council approved October 23, 2026, as the annual tax sale date. 

Policy N17/M19 Approaches Constructed by Resource Companies — Council received information on Policy N17/M19 that details the process for processing requests from resource companies to construct approaches for access to County roads as part of the mandatory review of policies following an election.

Property Tax Collection — Administration presented a summary of the 2026 property tax collected to date to Council as information. 

Public Hearings:

  • Council gave final reading to Bylaw #2680-26-034 to redesignate 2.20 hectares (5.45 acres) of land located north of Township Road 732, west of Range Road 60 and east of Highway 2, approximately 1.30 km south of Sexsmith from an Agricultural (AG) District to a Highway Industrial (RM-4) District.
  • Council gave final reading to Bylaw #2680-26-035 to redesignate 4.05 hectares (10.00 acres) of land located west of Range Road 32 and north of Township Road 740, approximately 2.41 km east of Teepee Creek from a Country Residential (CR-2) District to a Country Residential (CR-5) District.
  • Council gave final reading to Bylaw #2680-26-036 to redesignate one lot located along west of 102 Street and north of 98 Avenue in the Hamlet of Bezanson from a Rural Residential Mixed (RR-4) District to a Medium Residential (MDR) District.

Sponsorship and Funding Requests — Council approved the following sponsorship and funding requests:

  • $84,769 to the South Peace Regional Archives for continued operational support for a new three-year term following the organization’s annual update presentation. The agreement includes a 3% escalator to be included in the County’s Grant Budget for 2028 ($87,312) and 2029 ($89,931).
  • Council to purchase tickets at the cost of $123 per person for the Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park 30th Annual Comedy Nite Fundraiser on September 19, 2026.

The next Regular Council Meeting will take place on September 21, 2026. The next Committee of the Whole Meeting will take place on August 27, 2026.
