Celebrating the People Behind the County: 2026 Employee Milestones

The County of Grande Prairie is recognizing 66 employees for their years of service in 2026, celebrating the people whose experience, dedication and contributions help keep the County running and supporting the communities it serves.

This year’s milestones range from five to 45 years of service, honouring employees at every stage of their careers.

“Behind every service we provide and every project we deliver are the people who make it possible,” says Joulia Whittleton, County Manager. “It’s a privilege to recognize employees who have dedicated so much of their careers to serving our residents. Their knowledge, commitment and experience strengthen our organization, and we are grateful for the difference they continue to make in our communities.”

Among this year’s honourees are Wade Danroth and Dave Peters, who have each spent 45 years contributing to the County’s work and growth. They reflect on their time with the organization and the experiences and people that have made their careers meaningful.

Danroth, Heavy Equipment Operator, says, “It’s been a rewarding 45 years with the County. I’m proud to have been part of the team and to see how much we’ve grown and changed over the years.”

Peters, Bridge Inspector, expresses, “I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had over the past 45 years and the people I’ve worked alongside. It’s been a great experience being part of the County.”

The County of Grande Prairie recognizes service milestones annually, celebrating employees across departments who continually make a difference. These individuals exemplify commitment, excellence, and the spirit of public service.
