County Awards Operating Assistance and Cemetery Improvement Grants to 60 Community Groups

Investing in community impact, the County of Grande Prairie has awarded $199,395 in annual operating assistance and $40,000 in cemetery improvement grants to support 60 non-profit organizations and volunteer groups.

“Our volunteers and non-profit groups are the heart of our community. They give their time, energy, and care to make our County a better place for everyone," says County Reeve Amanada McDonald. "We are proud to support their work, and we’re pleased to provide funding that helps these organizations and individuals continue making a difference in our region."

Operating assistance grant funding is available to non-profit organizations and volunteer groups that offer recreation or cultural programs in their community. To qualify, groups must be open to County residents, provide proof of volunteerism and fundraising, and work toward clear goals. Applications can be picked up through any of the six County Recreation Boards and are open to community groups, non-profits, municipalities, schools and sports clubs.
