County Council sets priorities in 2026-2030 Strategic Plan

County Council has approved its 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, a comprehensive framework outlining Council’s vision for strengthening quality of life, supporting long-term economic prosperity, enhancing transportation networks, managing growth responsibly and ensuring strong transparent governance. 

The Strategic Plan sets clear direction for decision-making and investment, aligning the County’s long-term goals with the needs of residents, businesses and community partners. 

“This Strategic Plan reflects the values and priorities we heard from residents throughout our conversations in the community,” said Reeve Amanda McDonald. “It provides a clear roadmap for how we will support safe, connected communities, foster economic opportunity and take a disciplined, thoughtful approach to managing growth. Council is committed to delivering results that will strengthen the region for years to come.” 

Key focus areas include: 

The plan will guide County operations, budget considerations and advocacy efforts through 2030. County Administration is developing the 2026-2030 Corporate Business Plan to respond to the priorities set out in the Strategic Plan and translate them into clear actions for the organization.
