County Extending Hours, Providing Online Options for Property Tax Payments

With the possibility of another postal strike occurring as early as May 22, the County of Grande Prairie conducted an early mail-out of 2025 property tax and assessment notices and offers easy online payment options and extended hours on June 26, 27 and 30 to accommodate in-person payments.

In-person payments can be made at any time during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including over the lunch hour.

Extended Hours:

  • Thursday, June 26; Friday, June 27; and Monday, June 30 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including over the lunch hour.

Payment Options:

  • Online at myproperty.countygp.ab.ca using your Visa or MasterCard (subject to a 2.2% convenience fee). Allow 2-3 business days for processing.
  • Through banking institutions using online banking or by visiting in person.
  • In-person at the County Administration Building.

After paying this year’s tax balance, property owners can set up automatic monthly payments through the County’s Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP). Learn more at www.countygp.ab.ca/payments.

Property owners who have not received their tax notice by May 22 should contact the County Tax department at 780-513-3968 or taxes@countygp.ab.ca. Property tax payments are due by Monday, June 30, 2025. Payments made after this date will be subject to a penalty. Mailing a cheque is discouraged until more is known about the potential Canada Post strike action.

Property owners who have recently moved or transferred or purchased property in the County may not have received their property tax notice and should contact the County's tax office as soon as possible.

Residents and businesses with questions regarding their assessment can contact the Assessment Department at 780-513-3952 or assessment@countygp.ab.ca. Questions regarding tax notices can be directed to the Taxation department at 780-513-3968 or taxes@countygp.ab.ca. More information about property taxes and assessment, including appeals, is available at www.countygp.ab.ca/taxes
