County Fire Service Opens Recruitment for Local Paid Responders 

The County Regional Fire Service is seeking dedicated recruits to join their team as paid rural responders. 

Available roles extend beyond firefighting duties. Residents who live within 15 kilometres of a County firehall, or near stations in the towns of Beaverlodge, Sexsmith, or Wembley, can apply for a variety of paid positions, including:  

Please note that the County Regional Fire Service’s Clairmont and the Dunes stations are not currently recruiting.  

Paid responders are regular people who wish to help their communities by providing essential services on a flexible, on-call basis. They spend their time responding to incidents like fires, rescues, medical, hazardous materials, and many other types of calls, while working and training alongside career and volunteer firefighters from other stations. They also support their respective communities through public education and support of community activities. 

Participants are compensated by the County to train and respond to incidents; the training provided is internationally recognized and transferable.
