County of Grande Prairie Celebrates Fire Graduates and Emergency Service Excellence at Annual Awards

The County of Grande Prairie recognized the dedication, service, and achievements of its Regional Fire Service and Enforcement members this evening during the annual graduation and service awards ceremony.

The event honoured 51 members for career milestones, years of service, and exceptional contributions, while 16 recruits marked the successful completion of their fire service training.

Surrounded by family, friends, County councillors, and staff, the graduates took their oath of service, administered by County Deputy Reeve Bob Chrenek, officially beginning their careers with the Regional Fire Service. Long-serving members were also honoured with awards recognizing leadership, professionalism, and peer-nominated excellence.

“Our emergency responders answer the call when it matters most to our communities,” said Deputy Reeve Chrenek. “This evening was about celebrating their dedication, whether they are just starting their journey or have spent years serving our communities.”

Fire Chief Trevor Grant said the ceremony reflected the strength and dedication of the service.

“These members set a high standard through their training, teamwork, and service to others,” stated Fire Chief Grant. “We are proud of their accomplishments and grateful for the role they play in keeping our communities safe.”
