County of Grande Prairie Council Acclaims Reeve, Deputy Reeve
County of Grande Prairie Council has acclaimed Division 1 Councillor Amanda McDonald as Reeve and Division 9 Councillor Bob Chrenek as Deputy Reeve at today’s County Council organizational meeting.
“Every decision we make as Council has an impact on the people who call the County home,” said Amanda McDonald. “I look forward to building on the work already underway, listening to our residents and working with my fellow Councillors to address the opportunities and challenges facing our growing region.”
“Serving as Deputy Reeve is an opportunity to continue working collaboratively with Council to support the needs of our communities and make decisions that reflect the interests of County residents,” said Bob Chrenek. “I value the perspectives residents bring forward and the opportunity to work together on practical solutions that strengthen our communities.”
Amanda McDonald has served on County Council as Division 1 Councillor since 2021 and was elected Reeve last October after serving a year as Deputy Reeve. After joining Council in 2021, Bob Chrenek was first elected Deputy Reeve last October and will continue to represent Division 9.
County Council holds an organizational meeting every October to elect a Reeve and Deputy Reeve, as well as to appoint members of Council to committees.
