County of Grande Prairie Simplifies Recreation and Culture Grant Application Process

County of Grande Prairie Simplifies Recreation and Culture Grant Application Process

Community groups and non-profit organizations will soon have an easier way to apply for County funding through the streamlined Connected Community Grant.

In today’s Council meeting, Council approved an updated policy that consolidates existing grants into one simplified application process with three funding streams: Community Vibrancy and Wellness; Emergent Funding Requests; and Sponsorship, Donations and Community Support Requests.

“These changes will help the County better support the community groups and non-profits that keep our region thriving,” says Hayley Kramps, Director of Recreation and Culture.

“By reducing the number of grant applications, applicants get to focus on making their projects a success, leading to better outcomes for everyone.”

The new governing document is part of ongoing enhancements to Recreation and Culture grant policies. Later this fall, Council will review the Capital Grants, Operating Assistance and Recreation Advisory Boards policies.
