Fire North of Sexsmith Contained

Final Update: Tuesday, September 9, 2025, 10:40 p.m.: Crews from the County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service provided ongoing mutual aid to Alberta Forestry throughout the evening, working to build a dozer guard to contain a fire north of the Town of Sexsmith in an area located along Range Road 60, north of Township Road 744.  

County crews will return on Wednesday morning to continue assisting Alberta Forestry. There is no threat to the public.   

The public is asked to continue to avoid the area to allow crews to conduct their work.
