Grande Prairie Regional Pound Launches 24Petconnect: Helping Bring Lost Pets Home 

Residents can now use 24Petconnect, an online centralized database, to post and search for lost and found animals in the region, including viewing pets at the Grande Prairie Regional Pound. 

“It’s always stressful when a pet goes missing,” says Kyle Palfy, Superintendent of the County’s Regional Enforcement Services. “This platform makes the process easier for everyone. By bringing all the information together in one place, we are improving the chances of pets being returned home.” 

Instead of calling the Grande Prairie Regional Pound or scrolling through social media pages to locate a missing pet, owners can visit www.countygp.ab.ca/lostpets to access 24Petconnect’s database of lost and found animals. Users can also create a lost pet flyer through the platform and receive email alerts of found animals that match their pet’s description.  

"For the first time, people can see exactly which animals are in our care without having to call. That level of transparency helps pet owners act quickly and gives them reassurance during what can be an anxious time," says Helen Napier, Managing Director of the Grande Prairie Enforcement Services.

24Petconnect is a centralized database where residents, shelters and rescue organizations can list and browse lost, found, and adoptable pets, making it easier for people to search and report animals by location or identification details. Integrated with shelter management systems, the platform is part of the broader 24Pet ecosystem, which includes microchip registration and recovery services, ensuring a streamlined process for pet identification and reunification.
