Have Your Say: Proposed Amendment to Clairmont Heights Area Structure Plan

The County of Grande Prairie is inviting residents to learn more about a proposed amendment to the Clairmont Heights Area Structure Plan (ASP) and provide their input at an upcoming public open house.

The proposed amendment would change the land use designation of a parcel of land located southeast of the traffic circle at 113 Avenue and 94 Street in the Hamlet of Clairmont from ‘Pipeline Right-of-Way/Well Buffer’ to ‘Mixed Use General’.

The current designation was in place because oil wells previously existed on the site. Now that the oil wells have been properly removed and reclaimed, the land can be re-designated to accommodate future development.

Possibilities may include a blend of commercial and residential mixed-use buildings, such as ground-floor retail with residential units above and developments that help create a vibrant, walkable neighbourhood.

Residents are encouraged to attend the open house to learn more about the proposed amendment, ask questions, and share feedback to help shape the final version of the ASP.
