June is Parks and Recreation Month: Help Win $100,000 Toward Recreation in the County!

It’s time to get your head in the game and prove the County of Grande Prairie is the most active community in Canada.

To celebrate Parks and Recreation Month, the County is participating in the nationwide ParticipACTION Community Challenge for a chance to win $100,000 toward local sport and physical activity initiatives. Every active minute logged by residents brings the County closer to winning the grand prize.

“This challenge is open and accessible for everyone,” says Hayley Kramps, Director of Recreation and Culture at the County. “Whether it’s hitting the gym or going for a walk in your community, or logging minutes while your child is at the playground, it all counts.”

To maintain momentum, residents can follow weekly activity-related themes throughout June. Themes
range from walking and gentle movement to participating in a sport.
