Kiskatinaw Wildfire Officially Classified as Extinguished

According to Alberta Wildfire, as of June 1, 2026, the Kiskatinaw wildfire is officially classified as extinguished.

Infrared scanning of the fire area revealed no remaining hot spots. First discovered by British Columbia (BC) Wildfire on May 28, 2025, the wildfire burned approximately 3,574 hectares (ha) on the Alberta side of the border with BC. Thank you to all Alberta Wildfire staff, firefighters, aircraft crews, and partners whose hard work, dedication, and teamwork helped bring this wildfire to a successful conclusion.

We acknowledge and thank County Regional Fire Service for providing structural protection operations from May 29 to June 13, 2025. Their expertise was instrumental in safeguarding homes and infrastructure during the Kiskatinaw wildfire.
