Regional Enforcement Services, RCMP Table 2025 Annual Reports — The Committee received the County Regional Enforcement Services 2025 annual report from Administration, and the third quarter report from RCMP members from the Grande Prairie Rural and Beaverlodge detachments. County Regional Enforcement Services reported the following highlights from January to December 2025:
- 1,761 total occurrences, down from 1,860 in 2024
- 3,502 tickets issued, down from 3,536 in 2024
- $1,093,436 in fines issued compared to $1,072,227 in 2024
- 9,530 calls logged, up from 8,781 from the same period in 2024
- More than 16,000 vehicles were checked, including passenger, commercial and greenspace vehicles
- 1,046 animals admitted to the Regional Animal Pound, up from 978 in 2024
Notable enforcement actions included a $3,100 fine for an overloaded commercial vehicle and a 153 km/h speeding violation in a 50 km/h zone.
J.D.A. County Sportsplex Presents Annual Report — Representatives from the J.D.A. County Sportsplex presented the Committee with an overview of the facility’s operations in 2025 including the new 10-year naming rights contract with J.D.A. Ventures, facility maintenance, program registrations, ice and fieldhouse utilization, and lease updates.
Generative AI Use — Administration provided an overview of the procedures and guidelines for responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence by County Administration.
Designated Manufactured Homes Tax Collection — Committee recommended to Council that outstanding unpaid taxes be sent to a collection agency, which will use its resources to pursue payment from unit owners; any recovered funds will be subject to a 12% collection fee paid by the County, and the agency will report back to the Committee with results after one year.
Schedule of Fees, Rates and Charges Bylaw — The Committee directed Administration to present the revised Schedule of Fees, Rates and Charges Bylaw by the end of October, to allow sufficient time for review, revisions as directed by Council, and implementation for December 31.
Advocacy Review — The Committee directed Administration to review the effectiveness of the current contract provider and explore alternative advocacy approaches, with findings to be reported back at a future Committee of the Whole meeting.
The next Regular Council Meeting will take place on April 13, 2026. The next Committee of the Whole Meeting will take place on May 7, 2026.
