2026 County Open Houses — Council directed administration to proceed with booking the following locations for the 2026 County Open Houses:

  •          Central – Clarkson Hall at Evergreen Park   
  •         West – Hinton Trail Hall
  •          East – Webster Community Hall

Hythe Speed Limit — Council directed Administration to bring back further information on the possibility of reducing the speed limit within the Hamlet of Hythe to 30 kilometres per hour on all roads, excluding the industrial area and all costs associated with changing the existing road signage to a future Committee of the Whole Meeting for review and discussion.

Review of Operational Grant Processes — Council directed Administration to bring a summary of the processes involved for all operational grants offered by the County to a future Committee of the Whole Meeting for review and discussion.

2026 Grande Spirit Foundation Tax Requisition — Council received an information report from Administration about the 2026 Grande Spirit Foundation tax requisition, which the County collects on behalf of the organization. The report highlighted an expected increase of 23.04 per cent from last year.   

Maskwa Medical Center Update Representatives with the Maskwa Medical Center Board of Directors provided Council with an update on the progress of the Maskwa Medical Center Project to date. 

Public Hearings

·         Council gave third reading and final reading to Bylaw #2680-26-008 to redesignate the following:

o   0.273 hectares (0.67 acres) of land within Pt. SE-25-73-8-W6; C of T 172015462 from the Agricultural (AG) District to the Limited Institutional Recreation (L-IR) District.

o   4.401 hectares (10.87 acres) of land within Pt. SE-25-73-8-W6; C of T 172015462 from the Agricultural (AG) District to the Country Residential (CR-5) District.

o   3.696 hectares (9.13 acres) of land within Pt. SE-25-73-8-W6; C of T 772242160 from the Agricultural (AG) District to the Country Residential (CR-5) District.

·       Council recessed consideration of Bylaw #2680-26-009 to the May 25, 2026, Regular Council Meeting to allow the applicant time to address concerns raised during the circulation period. The bylaw proposes redesignating 40 acres (16.18 hectares) within Pt. NW-11-73-6-W6 from the Agricultural (AG) District to the Rural Medium Industrial (RM-2) District.

Sponsorship Requests Council approved the following sponsorship requests:

  •          $1,500 to the Grande Prairie Pirates Association for the U13 and U15 Developing Provincials.
  •          $440 to the Grande Prairie and District Oldtimers Association for their annual banquet

The next Regular Council Meeting will take place on March 23, 2026. The next Committee of the Whole Meeting will take place on March 26, 2026.
