Nature is Calling: County Campsites open May 15, 2026

Camping season officially launches Friday, May 15, inviting residents to trade their screens for sunsets and roasting marshmallows over the campfire.

By staying at County campgrounds, guests can enjoy a range of serviced and unserviced sites, access to trails and open spaces, and amenities that support everything from family getaways to quiet weekend escapes.

“Getting outside is an important way to stay active and connect with nature,” says Hayley Kramps, Director of Recreation and Culture. “Our campgrounds make it easy for residents and visitors to unplug, slow down, and explore the places that make our County a great place.”

In addition to overnight camping, day-use areas and trails at campground locations will be open for those looking for a short outdoor break, a walk, or a picnic.

Campsites will be available through a combination of first-come, first-served and reservation-based options, depending on the location. Visitors are encouraged to review campground rules, availability, and booking details before arriving.
