Nominations Open for 2026 County of Grande Prairie Farm Family of the Year 

The County of Grande Prairie is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Farm Family of the Year. This award celebrates families whose dedication to agriculture and rural life strengthens the fabric of our region. 

“Behind every successful farm is a family rooted in resilience, generosity, and a deep connection to the land and those around them,” says Reeve Amanda McDonald. “This award honours those values and the people who exemplify them every day.”  

The Farm Family of the Year Award, first presented in 1969, has become a hallmark tradition celebrated annually. The accolade is presented to families who display sustainable farm practices and demonstrate innovative approaches to challenges.   

The 2026 Farm Family will be recognized at the Farm Family Banquet, held during the Peace Country Classic Agri-Show at Evergreen Park on Friday, March 13, 2026. 

Nominations are open until Monday, December 1, 2025.
