Clairmont Roundabout Illumination — Council deferred the request for the installation of illumination at the intersection of 113 Avenue and 107a Avenue in the Hamlet of Clairmont to the 2026 interim budget.
Letter of Support, Grande Prairie and Area Council on Aging — Council directed Administration to provide a letter of support to the Grande Prairie and Area Council on Aging for their grant application to Healthy Aging Alberta for the Rural Social Prescribing Program. Social Prescribing connects older adults (55+) to non-medical community supports that improve overall well-being.
Letter of Support, Bezanson History Consultants — Council directed Administration to provide a letter of support to the Bezanson History Consultants to rename the Bezanson Community School Library after Ida (Colby) Dewhirst, the first teacher at the school.
Town of Sexsmith Alberta Community Partnership Grant Application — Council supported the Town of Sexsmith’s (managing partner) submission of an Alberta Community Partnership Grant application for the Red Tape Reduction Study for Development Applications in Small Alberta Municipalities.
Procedural Bylaw Amended — Council directed Administration to amend Bylaw #3261 – Procedural Bylaw to remove sections 119.3 and 119.6 from the bylaw and to bring back the amended bylaw to a future Council meeting for review and consideration.
Alberta Energy Regulator Presentation — Council received as information a presentation from the Alberta Energy Regulator detailing the purpose of setbacks (minimum distance required between sites) and other requirements for surface development near oil and gas infrastructure particularly where sour gas (H2S) is present.
Staff Accommodation Space Needs Analysis Committee Bylaw Rescinded — Council gave final reading to Bylaw #3269 – The Rescinding of Bylaw #3203 – Staff Accommodation Space Needs Analysis Committee. The bylaw was rescinded due to the Staff Accommodation Space Needs Analysis Committee having completed its mandate.
Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum Executive Director Recruitment — Council directed Administration to forward three recruitment firms proposals solicited by County Administration to the River of Death & Discovery Dinosaur Museum Society (Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum Board of Directors) for review and possible selection of an Executive Search firm to assist in the recruitment of a new Executive Director. The current Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum Executive Director provided notice of intent to retire in 2026. In anticipation of that vacancy, Council had previously directed Administration to bring forward options to support the Society in its recruitment of a new Executive Director.
Public Hearings:

Council gave first reading to Bylaw #3265 – Road Closure of a Portion of Undeveloped Road Allowance Lying West of Pt. SW-31-74-5-W6 (C. of T. 232206372) and directed Administration to forward the bylaw to the Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors for approval.

Council directed Administration to initiate a request to the Registrar of Land Titles that the Municipal Reserve designation of a County owned lot located south of the Clairmont Community Centre within the Northgate Industrial Park containing 1.00 acres more or less, be removed to allow for the disposal of the lot.
The next Regular Council Meeting will take place on December 15, 2025. The next Committee of the Whole Meeting will take place on December 1, 2025.
