Range Road 63 Construction Closure Dates Extended

The County of Grande Prairie is advising motorists of extended construction closures along Range Road 63 due to mechanical failures. Beginning at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, July 30, Range Road 63 will be closed between Township Road 723 and Township Road 724 until 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31. During this time, there will also be single lane alternating traffic on Range Road 63 from Highway 43 to Township Road 723.

Ongoing closures may occur between Township Road 723 and Township Road 730 on Thursday, July 31 and Friday, August 1. Residents are advised to avoid this area until further notice. During the closures, access will be granted to residents and business employees located along the affected route. The route will be closed to all other traffic.

The Clairmont Centre for Recycling & Waste Management will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30.

Once closures have ended, Range Road 63, from Highway 43 to Highway 672 (Emerson Trail), will remain under construction with single lane alternating traffic and flagging personnel in place for approximately three weeks, weather dependent.

To support traffic safety and minimize disruptions, road signage will be posted in advance of the closures and live message boards will be placed at key intersections. Drivers are reminded to follow posted signage, obey flagging personnel, and use alternate routes. The County appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation as crews work to improve local roads and infrastructure.
