Visible Smoke Due to BC Wildfire

Wednesday, May 28, 2025, 10:50 p.m.: The County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service would like to advise the public that visible smoke is due to a fire burning in British Columbia, approximately 18 kilometres west of the Alberta border. There is no threat to County residents. County crews and Alberta Forestry are aware of the fire and are monitoring the situation.
Reminder:
Effective at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, May 29, the County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service will issue a fire ban for the entire County, along with the towns of Beaverlodge, Sexsmith and Wembley.
